sfcrazy (1542989) writes "Oracle is dropping support for the leading open source operating systems — Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Suse Linux. The company made this announcement post its acquisition of Ksplice, the creator of innovative zero downtime update technology for Linux.

Oracle said in a statement, "Oracle does not plan to support Red Hat Enterprise Linux or SUSE Enterprise Linux. The Oracle Linux Premier Support subscription applies to Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel.""

  • It seems a bit odd that such a big announcement is being made in a customer e-mail. It sounds more to me like they are not planning on supporting ksplice in RHEL or SEL.
