Joe Scarborough of MSNBC called him a “joke,” while an op-ed in the LA Times accused him of running a “numbers racket.” But last night, Silver triumphed: every one of his state-level presidential predictions proved true. Statistics FTW!"

  • The point here is not that he was accurate or not, and it's not statistics FTW. He acknowledged his estimates could be wrong:

    the point is that he used accurate statistics to provide reasonable estimates, which the news and the pundits simply disregarded entirely as they made up numbers and false controversies.

    So it's more like pundits fail at statistics.
