There was an interesting book called "A Quick Trip to Objectland" that this synopsis reminded me of. That book was a primer for people who hadn't programmed in an Object Oriented language to pick up SmallTalk quickly. I can't remember the details but a kid somehow ended up in a fantasy world and ran into a wizard that taught him how to SmallTalk.
