kai_hiwatari writes: It seems like the Ubuntu developers consider GIMP to be too powerful for a normal desktop user. So they are removing it from the upcoming Ubuntu 10.04. This actually feels like a good reason as most people uses GIMP as a "Paint"-like software.

  • Yeah, The Gimp is way too complex to be an MS Paint alternative... What alternatives are there though?
  • GIMP is a powerful piece of software, but it's also difficult to use.
    This isn't all that outrageous, as long as there's another piece of software that, while less feature-rich, can do photo cropping and such with a less-steep learning curve. The last thing the developers behind Ubuntu want is for users to get frustrated and switch back to Windows.

After the last of 16 mounting screws has been removed from an access cover, it will be discovered that the wrong access cover has been removed.
